The Cake Box has developed this Privacy Policy to explain how we
may collect, retain , process, and transfer your personal data
when you visit our site, our store, or call to place an order
with us, hire an item or make an enquiry. This Privacy policy
applies to your personal data when you visit our site, speak
with us on the phone, or in person in store. This does not apply
to PayPal who we use as a secure service for our online
transactions. Please view PayPal privacy policy on their
site, alternatively, click on a pay now button on any of our
cakes on our site, this will take you through to your PayPal
basket, scroll down to bottom of page, where you will find their
Privacy policy link.
Our Privacy Policy is designed to help you obtain information
about our privacy practices, and to help you understand your
privacy choices when you use our site or order in person with
us.
2. What Personal Data do we collect?
We may collect information about you when you visit our site and
use our services in store or by telephone including the
following.
We will require you to provide us with your name, postal
address, telephone number and email address. We will require
your debit or card details if ordering by telephone.
If ordering by email, we will require you to use PayPal or a
BACs payment. We will never ask for your debit/credit card
details by email. DO NOT DIVULGE THEM BY EMAIL TO US. We will
request your email address for a PayPal invoice/request.
3. Why do we retain personal data?
We retain personal data to fulfil our legal or regulatory
obligations and for our business purposes. We will only retain
your personal data for the duration of your order time, and for
a short time after completion of your order, or during
quotation/query conversations via email.
4. How do we process personal data?
we may process your information for the following reasons.
. To operate our business and provide the services including.
* initiate a payment, request money for the whole
or part of the order/invoice/hire.
* communicate with you about your query,
quotation, order or hire of item.
* to be able to contact you regarding your order,
before, during or
after completion of your order.
*to comply with our obligations and to enforce the
terms and conditions of
our site including to comply with all
applicable laws and regulations.
*to respond to your requests, for example to
contact you about
a question you submitted to a
member of our team, in person, by email
or telephone query.
* your details (name, phone number, postal
address, email address) will be written on an order form, kept
safe in store while your order is processed.
On completion of your order, your details will be kept up to 14
days (one calendar month if a wedding order) thereafter your
details will be erased from the order form.
* hire form details. we
will request your name, address, telephone number, email and
some form of security on the hired item, normally debit/credit
card details. We will also ask to view proof of address on
hired items. These details will be stored in our safe, until the
item is returned safe and intact. On return of hired item, all
personal data will be erased from the hire form.
* email addresses are not shared with
any other company with the exception of PayPal if payment on
their site is to be used to process your payment.
Confirmation emails direct from PayPal will be deleted 14 days
after completion of your order. (one calendar month for wedding
orders) *emails containing quotes or queries will be
deleted one calendar month after last correspondence or 14 days
after completion of order after emailing. (one calendar month
for wedding orders).
Email addresses will be correct to the best of knowledge of The
Cake Box, occasionally Email addresses are given to The Cake Box
incorrectly or by human error on both sides. The Cake Box will
strive to ensure email addresses are correct so as not to
correspond or divulge any information to third parties not
involved.
* any debit/card refunds due to customers who did
not comply with our anti-fraud card payment system will need to
contact us within 14 days of completion of order, before we
erase their information from their invoice. No monetary refunds
will be given if said invoice has been filed.
5. Do we Share Personal Data?
We do not share your personal data with third parties for
their marketing purposes. We do not share your personal data
with anyone outside of The Cake Box....
With the exception of the following:
****We may, share your personal data with other third parties for our
business purposes or as permitted or required by law, if we need
to do so to comply with the law, legal process or regulations.
****We may share your personal data to law enforcement
authorities or other government officials, or other third
parities pursuant to a subpoena, a court order or other legal
process.
**** We will share your personal data in connection with
shipping and related services for delivery or postal orders.
**** We will share your personal data if required by our
bank/PDQ supplier to help assess and manage risk and prevent
fraud against us or card users.
6. How do we work with other services or platforms?
We do not link your personal data with any other platforms or
services, such a social media sites, or social messaging sites.
With the exception of PayPal if your transaction has been made
via PayPal.
7.How do we use Cookies and Tracking Technologies.
We don't use cookies on our site, or tracking technologies.
8. What privacy choices are available to you?
You have choices when it come to privacy practices and
communications in this privacy policy.
* Personal data. You many decline to provide personal data
when it is requested, but certain services will not be available
to you. for example, We cannot take your order without a contact
number or name, as we sometimes need to contact you maybe about
your order, opening times available to you or maybe your
payment. We will be unable to hire an item to you
without your personal data as a security on our belonging.
9.How do we protect your personal data?
Our promise to you. We will maintain, technical, physical and
administrative security measures designed to provide reasonable
protection for your personal data against loss, misuse,
unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. The security
measures include firewalls, data encryption, physical access
controls to our data, and information access authorization
controls.
10. can children use our services?
Yes. It is the parent/guardians responsibility that no
unwanted purchases take place from our website. We will
endeavour to identify any purchases potentially made by a minor
if deemed to be a mistake.

we may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to
our business, the site or services or applicable laws. The
revised Privacy Policy will be effective as of the published
effective date.
